Big Sur is one of the most beautiful areas in California. The Bixby Bridge is one of its attractions. It is one of the most photographed bridges along the California coast. The bridge is part of Hwy 1, it crosses Bixby Creek where the creek flows into the Pacific Ocean. It was built in 1932. At completion it was the longest concrete arch span, 320 ft., on the California Highway system. At 280 ft., it is one of the tallest single span concrete bridges in the world.
